lame

December 17, 2015September 14, 2020 rkanigel 2913 views

A word commonly used to describe difficulty walking as the result of an injury to the leg. Some people object to the use of the word lame to describe a physical condition because it is used in colloquial English as a synonym for weak, as in “That’s a lame excuse.”
Avoid using lame to describe a person with a disability except when quoting someone.
